Parables:
​An Earthy Story with a Heavenly Truth

Do you remember from math class when you studied parabolas?  A parabola is a symmetrical plane curve where one side mirrors the other.  That's where we get the word "parable."  Jesus shared parables, which are stories that have a surface meaning (an earthly story) that also has a mirrored spiritual meaning (a heavenly truth).

Parables are an insight into the kingdom of God.  They help us understand things from God's perspective.  If we are not careful, we will see the surface aspect of the story, but miss the spiritual meaning.
