Worship Service Questions
WHEN and WHERE are the worship services?
Sundays at 10:00am at the Lowe's YMCA in Mooresville, NC (170 Joe Knox Avenue, Mooresville, NC 28117).
What's the music like?
Contemporary. We are a small church plant. For this reason, we currently do not have a worship band. However, it is our prayer and desire to develop and grow this ministry. Our highest priority at this point is the faithful proclamation of God's Word and we believe the worship ministry will grow from a body of believers who prioritize God's Word. We are currently using worship tracks that are led by various volunteers in our church. This will change as our church grows and this ministry is more fully developed.
What's the preaching like?
Expositional. Pastor Chris is a verse-by-verse expositional preacher with a conservative and high view of Scripture. Our pastor's desire is to preach messages that present the inspired Word of God with such faithfulness and sensitivity that God's voice will be heard and His people obey Him. We believe the preaching of God's Word should promote life-change that produces Christ-likeness.

How should I dress?
Comfortable. Most people dress casually, but wear whatever makes you feel more comfortable. Dress up or dress down. We're just glad you're here!
What is available for my children during the Worship Service?
As a new church plant, we are still developing the leadership of our Kids Point and Student Point Ministries. Perhaps God is calling you to serve on the leadership team to develop these ministries!
We have a volunteer team of adults who lead age appropriate lessons each week for preschool and elementary age children.

What translation of the Bible do you use?
Our pastor preaches and teaches from the NKJV. The NKJV is a "word-for-word" translation as opposed to a "thought-for-thought." Different translations have differing purposes. Those that are word-for word are closer to the actual text of the original manuscripts and are best for preaching and teaching. Those that are thought-for-thought attempt to convey the general idea of the original manuscripts and are more appropriate for devotional reading. Word-for word translations include: NASB, ESV, KJV, and NKJV. Thought-for-though translations include: CSB, NIV, and NLT.
We are providing attendees with a free journaling box set of the first five books of the Bible (NKJV). The box set is designed for those who enjoy taking notes on sermons. Pastor Chris is teaching through the book of Exodus in 2025. If you would like to purchase additional copies, we purchase them through Church Source.

What is the Worship Environment of Grace Point Church?
We have a casual worship environment where the congregation is encouraged to sing, laugh, clap, and raise our hands in worship. As you can see in the photos, we have a unique worship environment as we sit at tables and chairs. We believe the circles of tables and chairs create a better environment for relational community.
